I'm Trying to Remember

Sometimes the bricks stay in place,

The mortar crumbles a bit

But that’s not anyone's fault,

The bricks will stay where they are

But still recognition fades

In the grinding procession,

Your recognition fades as

Mortar crumbles and faces

You knew lose definition,

Sometimes the bricks will change too

And maybe someone’s to blame—

But I don’t know who.
